Vietnam is located in Southeast Asia, bordered by China to the north, Laos to the northwest, Cambodia to the southwest, and the South China Sea to the east and south. Its geographical location makes it a strategic crossroads between East and South Asia, influencing its history, culture, and economy.
The country stretches approximately 1,650 kilometers (1,025 miles) from north to south, encompassing diverse landscapes such as mountains, highlands, deltas, and coastal plains. Vietnam's geography includes iconic features like the Mekong Delta in the south, the Annamite Range running along the western border, and the Red River Delta in the north. Its location along the South China Sea also grants Vietnam access to vital maritime trade routes, contributing to its significance in regional geopolitics.
